Should Amodu be sacked??

After Nigeria's dramatic last day qualification for the 2010 worldcup , there has been calls from different quarters that coach shuaibu Amodu should be sacked, due to incompetence and not being a world class coach to take Nigeria to the world cup!
Despite compiling the only perfect record in the previous round of the qualifiers in Africa - six wins in six games - and then remaining the only team to qualify for the World cup without a loss, there were still many doubters about Amodu's Eagles. And the clamour for his sack has been on since April after the goaless draw at mozambique.
Former international striker, Jonathan Akpborire, (Far back in April) has argued that the NFF should take the chance by firing Amodu and appoint a foreign coach before Nigeria's next World Cup tie at home to Kenya.
"Amodu is not good enough to handle our national team, and no other Nigerian coach can," said the former Wolsburg star.
"In 1997, I scored the equalising goal away to Kenya in a World Cup game and almost immediately, Amodu replaced me. Neither me nor my teammates could understand why."
Akpborire added: "In Mozambique, the players were running around like cows. Amodu could not motivate them because he is not professional enough.
"The qualification game will be in Tunisia in June and Amodu should not be allowed to take the team there, unless we have given up hope on the World Cup.This call was not taken serious and Nigeria has now qualified for the World cup. Shuaibu Amodu (MON)  qualified Nigeria for Japan/Korea 2002 world cup but was booted out before the games. Could history now repeat itself?      and
There were a number of world class coaches who at one point seems clueless, Scolari the Brazilian world cup winning coach looked very Ordinary at chelsea FC of England, Guss Hiddink could not repeat the Chelsea magic by qualifying Russia for 2010 world cup, former World champions , France had to take part in a playoff and Thiery Henry blatantly handling the ball to controversially win the crucial game, The eagles under Amodu also beat France by a lone goal in a friendly game this year .

i am of the opinion that there are several ways to test the competence of Amodu, The African nations cup Angola 2010 should be the acid test for Amodu, and even before that, the country should play Lots of friendly games. At the end of the day conclusions may be drawn from the results of those games and action taken based on that, Amodu should be mandated to win the Nations cup or at least get to the Final , if he performs woefully at the nations cup. he should be sacked, but if he wins the Nations cup then he should be given a chance to take the Eagles to the World cup (south Africa 2010).     What do you think about that?

A lesson from Super Eagles

Oh yes! The eagles have landed , at the next world cup, a lot of people thought it was over and they cant make it to the world cup. most people gave them no chance the question the critics were always looking at was even if the eagles beat Kenya, WHAT IF TUNISIA BEAT MOZAMBIQUE?? Another question is WHAT IF MOZAMBIQUE BEAT TUNISIA? The latter is positive and should be a lesson to anybody that belives in making it against the expectation of critics, one should always look at the positive angle and strive to give the best no matter the odds. you can immagine how painfull it would have been if the super eagle has allowed the possibility of Tunisia winning to cloud their concentration with nagativity and had drawn against Kenya only to be informed that Tunisia lost. The moral of the story is Give your best no matter what the odds are in every aspect of life, probable impossibility is to be prefered to improbable possibilities.Ignore the vultures and fly high!

In every aspect of Life and human endearvour chances exist, no matter how small that if you try your best you will qualify for the bigger stage and be among the stars, all you need to do is ignore all nagativity, ignore the critics that says you will never make it to your "world cup" invite all your stars, have a positive attitude, it is all in the mind, believe  you can fly, NO!! it is not enough to just believe you can fly, mount up on wings like an eagle and take off, fly, glide, fly up to high heavens.Believe it can be done then put in your best doing it ,you need to keep fighting and maintain that positive attitude till the final whistle against all odds you will live to celebrate when you get a phone call that the Tunisia in your life just lost!! You can only celebrate if you put in your best beating  the Kenya in your Life!! DO YOUR BEST NO MATTER WHAT THE ODDS SAYS!! -    Akinleye Akinseye      (CEO HyperNigeria Initiative)
